General description

Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a multifunctional cytokine that plays an important role in regulating immune and inflammatory responses. Produced by a wide variety of cells, including T cells, monocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and keratinocytes, IL-6 works by stimulating B-cell differentiation and antibody production, as well inducing expression of hepatic acute-phase proteins, regulating bone metabolism, and promoting neuronal differentiation. In addition, IL-6 appears to interact with IL-2 in the proliferation of T-lymphocytes and with IL-3 to promote the proliferation of multipotent hematopoietic progenitor cells. The Millipore mouse IL-6 ELISPOT Antibody Pair provides a sensitive and highly reliable method for the detection of IL-6 secreting cells at the single cell level.
~25 kDa

Application

IL-6 ELISPOT Antibody Pair, Mouse is a highly specific rat monoclonal antibody & that targets IL-6 & has been tested in ELISA.

ELISpot assay provides qualitative and quantitative information on immune responses, visualizing multiple secretory products from single responding cells.

Related Content

The ELISpot (Enzyme Linked Immuno-Spot) assay provides an effective method of measuring the antibody or cytokine production of immune cells on the single cell level. The popularity of this assay has seen resurgence in recent years as researchers attempt to gain a better understanding of immune responses in a variety of applications. The following protocol is an example of a typical ELISpot assay for quantifying the number cells producing interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) in response to antigen or non-specific activation using phytohemagglutinin (PHA). It may be optimized as necessary for other applications.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
