General description

Adipokines are bioactive proteins secreted by adipose tissue that play key roles in metabolic regulation, inflammation, and energy homeostasis. This set of biomarkers—Adiponectin, Adipsin (Factor D), NGAL/Lipocalin-2, PAI-1 (total), and Resistin—provides valuable insights into adipocyte function and systemic metabolic health. These analytes are associated with insulin sensitivity, lipid metabolism, immune response, and cardiovascular risk, making them highly relevant for research in obesity, diabetes, and related metabolic disorders.

Application

MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigorous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze up to 5 analytes in human serum or plasma samples.

Analytes included: Adiponectin, Adipsin/Factor D, NGAL/Lipocalin-2, PAI-1 (total), Resistin

Assay Characteristics: Refer to assay protocol for details on cross-reactivity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.

Undernutrition in early life has been reported to be closely associated with the development of non-communicable diseases in adulthood. Adequate treatment is important for reversing these effects. In the present study, we investigated the effects of undernutrition and anthropometric recovery

Lipocalin-2 is an acute-phase protein with pleotropic functions that has been implicated in several diseases including Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, it is unknown if circulating lipocalin-2 levels are altered in the preclinical stage of AD, where AD pathology has accumulated

Adipose tissue-derived adipokines are pro-inflammatory cytokines involved in metabolic-related diseases and can be influenced by diet and exercise. We aimed to compare the effect of a Mediterranean (MdM) compared with Fast Food (FFM) meal on the exercise induced adipokines changes.

To examine whether supplementation with low doses of fish or milk proteins would affect glucose regulation and circulating lipid concentrations in overweight healthy adults. Ninety-three overweight adults were assigned to receive 2.5 g protein/day from herring (HER), salmon (SAL), cod (COD)
