Application

MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigorous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze up to 2 analytes in human serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and cell culture supernatants and lysates.Analytes included: Cortisol, Melatonin.Note: Serum and plasma samples require extraction using acetonitrile precipitation or an extraction plate. See kit protocol for details.Assay Characteristics: Refer to kit protocol for assay cross-reactivity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.

Features and Benefits

Unlock Circadian Insights: Simultaneously measure both cortisol and melatonin to capture the complete picture of circadian rhythm regulation and stress response in a single, efficient assay.Precision-Engineered Detection: Experience sensitive quantification of melatonin with minimum detectable limit as low as 2.7 pg/mL, ensuring you capture hormonal fluctuations critical to chronobiology research.Versatile Sample Compatibility: Analyze diverse sample types including serum, plasma, CSF, and tissue lysates, giving you the flexibility to explore circadian biomarkers across multiple research applications.Built-in Reliability: Every kit delivers consistent performance with lot-to-lot verification and quality controls to guarantee the assay was run correctly, so you can trust your chronobiology data without hesitation.Streamlined Research Workflow: Eliminate the complexity of separate assays with our all-in-one format, allowing you to focus on breakthrough discoveries in sleep medicine and stress physiology rather than logistical challenges.

General description

Cortisol and melatonin are essential regulators of circadian rhythms and stress responses in human physiology. Cortisol, a glucocorticoid hormone produced by the adrenal cortex, orchestrates stress adaptation through gluconeogenesis, anti-inflammatory pathways, and immune modulation, while exhibiting characteristic diurnal variation with morning peaks. Melatonin, synthesized primarily in the pineal gland, serves as the master regulator of circadian cycles and provides potent antioxidant protection, making simultaneous quantification of these hormones crucial for understanding sleep disorders, stress-related conditions, and chronobiological research.

Learn how multiplex detection of Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers, using the MILLIPLEX® Human Amyloid Beta and Tau Magnetic Bead Panel, allows for a different perspective on neurodegenerative disease research.

Multiplex immunoassays, such as MILLIPLEX® multiplex metabolic assays, are critical in metabolic syndrome research because they provide a full picture of the different conditions related to it, like diabetes and obesity, as well as save time and sample volume.

Neuroscience multiplex assays, such as MILLIPLEX® multiplex assays, enable simultaneous measurement of neuroscience-related biomarkers to gain a better picture of neurodegenerative diseases, neurological disorders, and neuropeptide/neurohormone signaling.
