General description

Purified mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells (see application references). Recognizes the ~160 kDa LDL Receptor protein.
Recognizes the ~160 kDa LDL receptor protein in HT1080 and HepG2 cells.
This Anti-LDL Receptor Mouse mAb (15C8) is validated for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Frozen Sections, Immunoblotting, Immunocytochemistry, Immunoprecipitation for the detection of LDL Receptor.

Immunogen

Bovine
Epitope: first cysteine-rich ligand binding domain
a trypic digest of bovine low density lipoprotein receptor

Application

ELISA (0.5-1 g/ml)
Flow Cytometry (see application references)
Frozen Sections (1-5 g/ml)
Immunoblotting (1-5 g/ml, see application references)
Immunocytochemistry (1-5 g/ml, IF)
Immunoprecipitation (1-2 g/sample)

Packaging

Please refer to vial label for lot-specific concentration.

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Physical form

In 0.05 M sodium phosphate buffer, 0.2% gelatin.

Analysis Note

Positive Control
Liver sections, HT1080 cells, HepG2 cells

Other Notes

Will displace 50-70% of LDL binding to the receptor. For immunoblotting, include 2 mM Ca+2 with the antibody and avoid EDTA. This antibody has been reported to bind best to the unreduced LDL-R (see specificity application reference). Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.
