Gene Information
human ... ROBO2(6092)
General description
Roundabout homolog 2 (Robo2) is a receptor for SLIT2, and likely SLIT1, which are thought to help guide cellular migration, including axonal navigation of the neural tube and the projection of axons during neuronal development. Vesicoureteral reflux type 2 (VUR2) has been attributed to defects in Robo2.
~ 170 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight is 150 kDa, however Robo2 has been shown as a ~170 kDa band in western blots due to high glycosylation. (Fricke, C., et al. (2001). Science. 292:(5516):507-510).
Immunogen
Epitope: Cytoplasmic domain
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to the cytoplasmic domain of human Robo2.
Application
Detect Roundabout homolog 2 using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-Robo2 Antibody, clone 4C6.1 validated for use in western blotting & IHC (Paraffin).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected Robo2 in rat brain (hypothalamus) and human brain tissue.

Roundabout guidance receptor 2 (ROBO2) plays an important role during early kidney development. ROBO2 is expressed in podocytes, inhibits nephrin-induced actin polymerization, down-regulates nonmuscle myosin IIA activity, and destabilizes kidney podocyte adhesion. However, the role of ROBO2 during kidney injury
