Gene Information
human ... GREB1(9687)
General description
GREB1, also known as gene regulated in breast cancer protein 1 is shown to be involved in the proliferation of breast cancer cells, controlled by estrogen. GREB1 has the potential to be a clinical marker for response to endocrine therapy and a therapeutic target. GREB1 also may be the regulator for prostate cancer.
~ 216 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysates.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to human GREB1.
Application
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 1:600 dilution from a previous lot detected GREB1 in prostate tissue.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A previous lot was used by an independent laboratory in IP. (Hnatyszyn, H., et al. 2009). Breast Cancer Res Treat
DOI 10.1007/s10549-009-0584-x.)

What covalent modifications control the temporal ubiquitination of ERα and hence the duration of its transcriptional activity remain poorly understood. We show that GREB1, an ERα-inducible enzyme, catalyzes O-GlcNAcylation of ERα at residues T553/S554, which stabilizes ERα protein by inhibiting
