General description

Microfil® Funnel & Filter is a ready-to-use, sterile filter unit that combine a 100mL funnel and a membrane filter in a single device offering a complete solution for bioburden testing. The filter unit is made of PVDF and the membrane is made of white, 47 mm diameter mixed cellulose esters (MCE) with 0.45μm pore size. The sealed integral membrane filter eliminates the need for membrane manipulation and handling, thus minimizing a major source of contamination and thereby improves bioburden testing reliability. The sealed membrane prevents the bypass phenomenon often found with other filtration systems. The convex shape of the membrane after filtration demonstrates the integrity of the membrane and prevents air bubbles from being trapped when placed on culture media.

Application

Microfil® Funnel & Filter is used in Bioburden testing, water monitoring and general microbiological analysis of beer, bottled water. They are widely used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and brewing industry
