General description

Porcine cytokines play a vital role in understanding immune responses in pigs, which share physiological and genetic similarities with humans. As a model organism, pigs are increasingly used in biomedical research to study various diseases, vaccine development, and the effects of therapies, owing to their comparable immune system and organ sizes to those of humans. This makes them an invaluable resource for translational research aimed at improving human health outcomes. Additionally, research on porcine cytokines contributes significantly to veterinary medicine and animal health, helping to enhance disease management and treatment strategies in livestock populations.

Application

MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigorous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze 13 analytes in porcine serum, plasma, tissue/cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants.

Analytes included: GM-CSF, IFNγ, IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-1Ra, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8 (CXCL8), IL-10, IL-12, IL-18, TNF-α

Assay Characteristics: Refer to kit protocol for assay cross-reactivity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.

Features and Benefits

Accelerate Your Discoveries: Profile entire cytokine networks in one experiment.

High-Throughput Capability: Process up to 38 samples in duplicate per plate.

Verified for Porcine Reactivity: Specifically optimized for pig cytokines and chemokines.

Time and Cost Efficiency: Reduces the need for multiple single-analyte ELISAs.

Comprehensive Immune Profiling: Enables deeper insights into inflammatory and immune responses in porcine models.

Proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) is a blinding disorder that develops after a retinal tear or detachment. Activation of the retinal pigmented epithelium (RPE) is implicated in PVR; however, the mechanisms leading to enhanced RPE proliferation, migration, and contraction remain largely unknown.
