General description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody adsorbed against non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the immunogen phosphorylation site and a generic phosphotyrosine-containing peptide, followed by immunoaffinity chromatography. Recognizes the ~125 kDa FAK protein phosphorylated at Tyr861.
Recognizes the ~125 kDa FAK protein phosphorylated at Tyr861 in primary chick embryo fibroblasts transfected with human FAK.
This PhosphoDetect Anti-FAK (pTyr⁸⁶¹) Rabbit pAb is validated for use in Immunoblotting, Immunohistochemistry for the detection of FAK (pTyr⁸⁶¹).
Immunogen
a synthetic phosphopeptide surrounding the Tyr⁸⁶¹ phosphorylation site of human FAK
Physical form
In Dulbecco′s PBS (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), 50 % glycerol, 1 mg/ml BSA, pH 7.3 (±0.1).
Analysis Note
Positive Control
Chicken embryo fibroblasts (CEF) expressing FAK, plated on fibronectin

The immunogen sequence is 100% conserved in rat and Xenopus FAK but cross-reactivity has not been tested. This antibody is also reported to work for immunohistochemistry. Antibody should be titrated for optimal use in individual systems.
