General description

EndoGRO Media Formulations provide an optimal cell culture environment for many types of endothelial cells, including HUVEC, aortic endothelial cells and other human large vessel and microvascular endothelial cells. These media have been shown to grow endothelial cells at rates that meet or exceed commercially available serum containing media, while maintaining excellent cell morphology. The media are packaged in a specially designed UV protective shrinkwrap for added stability, which includes a temperature gauge that helps prevent contamination. EndoGRO Media contain no antimicrobials and no phenol red, components that can cause cell stress and masking effects that may influence experimental results. Four different media formulations are available for various applications and cell culture requirements.

Other Notes

  • EndoGRO Basal Medium (SCME-BM)
  • Supplement Kit (SCME004-S)

Preparation Note

Basal Medium (SCME-BM) should be stored at 2 - 8ºC. The special UV protective packaging protects EndoGRO Medium from light damage, however users should take care to protect medium from extended exposure to light. Supplement Kit (SCME004-S) should be stored at -20ºC.

"The successful, reliable culture of epithelial cells is critical for many areas of research, including dermatology, respiratory research, and cancer research. Because the breakdown of control mechanisms in epithelial cells is a frequent contributor to cancer progression and metastasis, epithelial cell culture is particularly important for cancer research. EpiGRO™ media formulations are optimized to provide better viability, proliferation rates, morphology and culture stability than other commercially available options. The media are provided in unique, light-blocking, temperature-monitored packaging to ensure stability and protect the media from damage by light, contamination, and excessive heat. The media do not require or contain any antimicrobials or phenol red. These components can cause cell stress and influence experimental results by masking the true performance or health of the cell culture. Phenol red acts like an estrogen and may stimulate growth independently of experimental variables. "
