General description

Fibronectin is responsible for the cellular interactions with the extracellular matrix. It is involved in cell adhesion, migration, growth and differentiation. It is a soluble component of plasma and other body fluids. In addition, it is also part of the insoluble extracellular matrix.

Specificity

Active on most mammalian cells

Application

Fibronectin promotes the attachment and subsequent spreading of many cells. It is used for the coating of culture dishes.

Testing Method

Tested for the promotion of adherence of 3T3 (NR6) cells (XTT cleavage)

Physical form

Lyophilizate (contains 1.126 mg glycine and 0.058 mg sodium chloride per mg fibronectin), before lyophilization filtered through a 0.2 μm pore size membrane.

Preparation Note

Working concentration: 5 μg/cm2
5 μg/cm2 for the coating of cell culture vessels
Storage conditions (working solution): -15 to -25 °C
The reconstituted solution is stable at -15 to -25 °C.
Note: Store the reconstituted solution in aliquots at -15 to -25 °C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Reconstitution

Add 1 or 5 ml sterile water, respectively, to yield a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Incubate for 30 to 60 minutes at 37 °C to dissolve. Do not agitate.
Upon reconstitution, the solution may contain a small amount of insoluble aggregated material. These aggregates are a phenomenon inherent to fibronectin and do not influence product performance.

Other Notes

For life science research only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
