General description

This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food.
L-Ascorbic acid 6-stearate is a lipophilic fatty acid ester of ascorbic acid.

Application

L-Ascorbic acid 6-stearate (ASC-S) may be used as a standard in determining the apoptotic activity of ASC-S through the intrinsic mitochondrial pathway in HeLa cell lines, derived from cervical cancer cells. It may also be used as an analytical standard to investigate its interaction with bovine serum albumin using surface plasmon resonance (SPR).
