General description

Gallocyanine belongs to the oxazine class of dyes. It is synthesised from methanol solution of gallic acid in the presence of excess iodine. Gallocyanine is used to stain animal cells, mostly the nucleic acids. It also acts as a chelating agent and is used to determine bioactive compounds and several metal ions.

Pulmonary circulation, 6(4), 483-497 (2017-01-17)
Rapid access to lung-derived cells from stable subjects is a major challenge in the pulmonary hypertension field, given the relative contraindication of lung biopsy. In these studies, we sought to demonstrate the importance of evaluating a cell type that actively

It is suggested that a nuclear stain; gallocyanine, be used simultaneously with the three main histological staining methods: hematoxylin-eosin, Van-Gieson's, and Nissl' stainings. This modification is technically simple, gives preparations of a high quality, and is time- and labour-saving.

During early development of the gastropod mollusc Patella vulgata, the stem cell of the mesoderm (3D-macromere) is induced. As a result of this induction, the embryo becomes dorsoventrally organised. At about the same time in development, ciliated cells, so-called trochoblasts
