General description

Actinomyces Isolation Agar is specifically formulated for the isolation and propagation of Actinomycetes from soil and water samples. This agar contains sodium caseinate, which serves as a nitrogen source, while asparagine provides both nitrogen and amino acids. Sodium propionate acts as a substrate for anaerobic fermentation. The inclusion of dipotassium phosphate ensures an effective buffering system to maintain pH stability. Sulfates in the medium supply essential sulfur and metallic ions, while glycerol offers an additional carbon source to support the growth of Actinomycetes.

Application

Actinomycete Isolation Agar is widely used in agriculture by studying Actinomycetes for soil health and nutrient cycling, environmental monitoring for detecting and cultivating Actinomycetes in ecological studies, food and beverage microbiological analysis to ensure product safety and quality, and microbiology research for antibiotic production and other biotechnological applications.
