Application

Chromotrope 2B along with Chromotrope 2R, was used to give a highly colored radical anion, during the spectrophotometric determination of cephalosporins (cephadroxil (I), cephalexin (II) and cephradine (III)) in pharmaceutical products. It may be immobilized on AG 1-X8 ion exchange resin, used in flame atomic absorption spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), done for the on-line preconcentration and determination of aluminium.
