General description
DEET can find wide applications as an active ingredient in insect repellents, which can be used for protection against potentially disease-carrying insects and ticks such as deer ticks leading to lyme disease, mosquitoes leading to malaria, dengue fever, zika virus and west nile virus. It can also be used for protection against the condition of encephalitis inflammation.
