General description
In Schaeffer-Fulton`s method, a primary stain-malachite green is forced into the spore by steaming the bacterial emulsion. Malachite green (Schaeffer & Fulton`s Spore Stain A: Cat. No. 90903) is water soluble and has a low affinity for cellular material, so vegetative cells may be decolorized with water. Vegetative cells are then counterstained with safarin. The components and the method are also available as kit (Cat. No. 04551).
Other Notes
Schaeffer & Fulton`s Spore Stain B: SafarinO 5 g/l in water

Assessment of the early stages of fracture healing via X-rays and computed tomography is limited by the low radio-opacity of cartilage. We validated a method of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) for non-destructive identification of cartilage within a healing fracture callus.
