General description

(+)-Isocorydine is classified under the family of aporphine alkaloids, which are ubiquitously found in various plants. This natural tetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloid is most commonly present in species belonging to the Papaveraceae, Menispermaceae, and Annonaceae families.

Application

(+)-Isocorydine hydrochloride may be used as a precursor for the preparation of (+)-isocorydine, which in turn can be used as an analytical standard for the determination of the analyte in biological samples, and roots and aerial parts of Cryptocarya alba tree species by liquid chromatography based techniques.
