Sulfotep may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte in liquid pesticide formulations using gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC-FID).

General description

Sulfotep is a non-systemic, aliphatic organophosphate insecticide, fumigant and acaricide, which may cause unanticipated health and ecological problems. It acts as a cholinesterase inhibitor, and is widely used in controlling aphids, spider mites, thrips and whiteflies on glasshouse crops, mushrooms and ornamentals.
