Sulfadimethoxine is an long acting sulfonamide antibiotic, which finds applications in pen-held lobsters, Homarus americanus for treatment of gaffkemia.

Sulfadimethoxine may be used as a reference standard in the determination of sulfadimethoxine in eggs using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
