Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), is a phthalate ester which is a dialkyl or aryl/alkyl diesters of phthalic acid. It is mostly used as additives for imparting flexibility to polymers in plastics technology. Generally, phthalate ester are hydrophobic compounds which displays strong potential for adsorption.

Application

DEHP may be used as plasticisers in studying the transcriptional activity of human sodium/iodide symporter.
