General description

Tetrabutylammonium hydroxide 30-hydrate is a strong alkali containing quaternary amine, which is used in a variety of organic transformations.

Application

Tetrabutylammonium hydroxide 30-hydrate can be used:
  • As a base for the chemoselective allenylation of aldehydes with TMS-protected alkynes to synthesize α-allenols.
  • As an additive for the hydroxyalkylation of phenols with cyclic carbonates to synthesize aryl β-hydroxyethyl ethers.
  • In the solvothermal synthesis of SNS (simple nanoscroll structures) and INS(intercalated nanoscrolls) hexaniobate nanoscrolls.
