General description

Antibiotic Assay Medium No. 10 is formulated in accordance with the specifications outlined by the USP and FDA, ensuring well-defined inhibition zones for the test organisms. Nutrients and growth factors are provided by casein enzymatic hydrolysate and papain digest of soybean meal. Dextrose serves as the carbon source, while dipotassium phosphate offers effective buffering action. Sodium chloride is included to maintain osmotic equilibrium, supporting optimal growth conditions for the microorganisms under investigation.

Application

Antibiotic Assay Medium No. 10 is specifically designed for use in the performance of antibiotic assays. It is widely utilized in microbiological testing to determine the potency and efficacy of antibiotics. The medium supports the growth of various bacteria, including Bordetella spp. and Pseudomonas spp., making it suitable for clinical testing, food and beverage analysis, and general microbiology applications.
