General description
(−)-Cotinine is a major metabolite of nicotine, widely used as a biochemical marker for to evaluate the exposure to environmental tobacco smoke, for the validation of abstinence smoking and to determine the percentage of active smoking behavior.
Application
(−)-Cotinine solution has been used as a standard in the analysis of nicotine in air samples using ultra performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS).
(−)-Cotinine solution has been used as a standard in the analysis of nicotine in air samples using ultra performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS). (−)-Cotinine may be may used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in biological samples using high-performance liquid chromatography technique.
