Application
General description
Dexpanthenol, an alcoholic analog of pantothenic acid, can be potentially applied for skin wound healing application. It is utilized in multi-vitamin formulations, as a parenteral drug and certain cosmetic preparations. When absorbed by the skin, it is transformed into pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which has implications in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A.
