General description

One unit of SRM 3136 comprises five sealed borosilicate glass ampoules, each containing 10 mL of an acidified aqueous solution. This solution is gravimetrically prepared to contain a known mass fraction of nickel and comprised of nitric acid at an approximate volume fraction of ~ 8 %.

SRM 3136_cert

SRM 3136_SDS

Application

The SRM is intended for use as a primary calibration standard for the determination of nickel quantitatively.

Features and Benefits

  • The certified value of the SRM was determined by calculating the mass fraction values of Nickel, which is obtained through two methods:
  1. Gravimetric preparation
  2. Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES).
  • The certified value is metrologically traceable to the SI unit of mass fraction, expressed as milligram per gram.
  • The NIST certificate is provided with expiration certificate, storage, handling, use, and maintenance instructions.
