How to Find a Lot/Batch Number for COA
Lot and Batch Numbers can be found on a product's label following the words 'Lot' or 'Batch'.
For a lot number such as TO09019TO, enter it as 09019TO (without the first two letters 'TO').
For a lot number with a filling-code such as 05427ES-021, enter it as 05427ES (without the filling-code '-021').
For a lot number with a filling-code such as STBB0728K9, enter it as STBB0728 without the filling-code 'K9'.
In some cases, a COA may not be available online. If your search was unable to find the COA you can request one.
P1379 is not diluted in any solvent. Thus it can be considered "100%" or the "neat" material.
Increased temperature can lead to autoxidation of TWEEN 20 in solution. Autoclaving is not recommended without testing for changes in properties. TWEEN 20 may not be stable to autoclaving, particularly with metal cations in buffer solutions. TWEEN 20 is heat sensitive; it will darken when exposed to elevated temperatures. Autoclaving is done at the customer's risk.
Origin information on any lot of Tween 20 is specific to that lot, and can be found on its Certificate of Origin (CofO), which may be accessed on the Sigma-Aldrich website under its specific product and lot number.
Yes. The specifications for P1379 are "clear yellow to yellow green viscous liquid".
We have not tested P1379 in quality control to be protease-free. There is a Molecular Biology grade of Tween 20, P9416, but this is not tested specifically for proteases either. P9416 is tested to be endonuclease-endonuclease free and to be ribonuclease-free.
If available for a given product, the recommended re-test date or the expiration date can be found on the Certificate of Analysis.
The lot specific COA document can be found by entering the lot number above under the "Documents" section.
