General description

Potassium iodide (KI) is an inorganic potassium salt. Alumina loaded with potassium iodide has been employed as catalyst for the transesterification of soybean oil with methanol. Influence of KI on the in vitro generation of polymorphonudear leukocyte (PMN)-derived oxygen intermediates has been investigated.

Application

Potassium iodide (KI) was used in the preparation of standard iodide stock solution for the determination of iodide by size exclusion chromatography. It may be used in the spectrophotometric determination of advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP).
