General description

Glucose is the energy currency essential for physiological processes in the living cells. It serves as a precursor for glycoproteins, glycolipids and glycosaminoglycans. Glucose solution is a commonly used feed in the biopharmaceutical industry. Applying High Temperature Short Time (HTST) technology to 50% Glucose inactivates any adventitious viral agents that may be present thereby forming part of an overall virus risk mitigation strategy in your upstream process. HTST Treated Glucose offers the same feed viability and performance as non-HTST treated Glucose however has the additional benefit of HTST pasteurization in addition to sterile filtration.
