General description

Lectins are distinct proteins or glycoproteins that have at least one non-catalytic domain which fixes reversibly to a definite mono- or oligosaccharide. Some of their potentially utilizable biological assets include: antitumor, immunomodulatory and anti-insect, antifungal, antibacterial, anti-HIV, and mitogenic properties.

Application

Lectin was used in isolation and culture of optimized peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
