Gene Information
human ... CDK8(1024)
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human CDK8
Application
Anti-CDK8 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 1.25 μg/ml.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CDK8 is a regulator of transcription in a multisubunit complex with TFIIH and TEF-β. It exerts positive and negative effects on transcription and is involved signaling that controls nutrient sensing and cell differentiation. CDK8 phosphorylates the regulatory serine residue of STAT1 and mediates JAK-STAT1 signaling.
Physical form
Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.
Other Notes
Synthetic peptide located within the following region: GLIMTSDYQRSNPHAAYPNPGPSTSQPQSSMGYSATSQQPPQYSHQTHRY

Whereas cytokine-induced tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT (signal transducer and activator of transcription) proteins by JAK kinases has been well studied, much less is known about STAT-specific serine kinases and their signal-dependent regulation.
