Gene Information

human ... ACVR2B(93)

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human ACVR2B

Application

Anti-ACVR2B antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 0.25μg/ml.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Activin A receptor, type IIB (ACVR2B) binds activin ligands that promote growth and differentiation via the TGF-β signaling. ACVR2B is expressed in adult hypothalamus and forebrain. Activin receptors IIA and IIB may regulate germ cell proliferation in the human ovary during primordial follicle formation and in mouse testis.

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

The inhibin/activin family of proteins is known to have a broad distribution of synthesis and expression in many species, as well as a variety of functions in reproductive and other physiological systems. Yet, our knowledge regarding the production and function

The formation of the essential functional unit of the ovary, the primordial follicle, occurs during fetal life in humans. Factors regulating oogonial proliferation and interaction with somatic cells before primordial follicle formation are largely unknown. We have investigated the expression

Activin affects many aspects of cellular development, including those essential for reproductive fitness. This study examined the contribution of activin A to murine fetal testicular development, revealing contrasting outcomes of activin actions on Sertoli cells and gonocytes. Shortly after sex
