Gene Information

human ... GADD45B(4616)

General description

Growth arrest and DNA-damage-inducible, β (GADD45B) regulates DNA demethylation, adult neurogenesis, p38 signaling and cellular apoptosis. Genetic defects or lack of GADD45B are known to affect long-term memory and synaptic plasticity.
Rabbit Anti-GADD45B antibody recognizes bovine, human, mouse, rat, and canine GADD45B.

Immunogen

The immunogen for anti-GADD45B antibody: synthetic peptide derected towards the middle region of human GADD45B

Application

Rabbit Anti-GADD45B antibody is suitable for western blot applications at a concentration of 0.25 μg/ml.

Physical form

Lyophilized from PBS buffer with 2% sucrose

Other Notes

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: FCCDNDINIVRVSGMQRLAQLLGEPAETQGTTEARDLHCLLVTNPHTDAW

Dynamic epigenetic mechanisms including histone and DNA modifications regulate animal behavior and memory. While numerous enzymes regulating these mechanisms have been linked to memory formation, the regulation of active DNA demethylation (i.e., cytosine-5 demethylation) has only recently been investigated.
