Rat transplantable mesothelioma, asbestos, primary tumour
The Me-series of mesotheliomas were generated by an intrapleural inoculation of UICC crocidolite to induce primary mesotheliomas in syngenic PVG/c Norweigan Hooded rats. Solid fragments of the tumours were transplanted and maintained by s.c. serial passage. The cell lines are metastatic in a syngeneic host.
Preparation Note
Split subconfluent cultures (70-80%) 1:4 to 1:10 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37 °C. Suggested seeding density 2-4 x 10,000 cells/cm2.
