Biochem/physiol Actions

Established in vitro from the MOPC 315 plasmacytoma induced by mineral oil injections in a BALB/c mouse. Secretes an IgA lambda antibody which recognises DNP-TNP substituted proteins. Cells are killed by low concentrations (10nM) of dexamethasone.
Mouse myeloma

Preparation Note

EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10-20% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Maintain cultures between 1-9x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C. Do not allow cell density to rise above 1,000,000 cells/ml as rapid death occurs at higher concentrations.
