Biochem/physiol Actions
Cell line containing the receptor protein GRL101. The cDNA from the CNS of the mollusc Lymnaea stagnalis encoding a putative receptor has been isolated and analysed. The first repeat of DNA displays a high sequence similarity to the extracellular binding domains of the low density protein receptor, which binds and internalises cholesterol containing apolipoproteins. The MRNI receptor is predominantly expressed in a small number of neurons within the CNS and to a lesser extent in the heart.
Hamster Chinese ovary transfected with Lymnaea receptor GRL101
