General description

Recombinant human Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor 165 (VEGF165) is expressed in HEK 293 cells and supplied as a glycosylated homodimeric protein suitable for mammalian cell culture research. Glycosylation contributes to stability in cell growth media and other applications.

Application

VEGF165 has been used in endothelial cell culture research, including studies of cell proliferation, migration, and vascular‑related signaling in vitro.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF165) is a mitogenic growth factor for endothelial cells and mediates cellular responses through VEGF receptor‑dependent signaling pathways in in vitro cell models. It is a potent angiogenic factor and mitogen that stimulates proliferation, migration and formation of endothelial cells.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 1X PBS

Analysis Note

The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of HUVEC cells (human umbilical vein endothelial cells).
