General description

IROA-IS is uniformly labeled with approximately 5% for the 12C isotope and 95% of 13C. The uniformly labeled 95% of 13C labelled peaks are readily calculated and identified by IROA ClusterFinder Software.

Application

Metabolite research. Metabolomic studies. These standards are mostly used to provide retention times and spectra for these key products. Can be used to spike in to any natural abundance experimental samples like cells, tissues, blood, plasma, plant material etc to identify and quantitate the peaks. Also aids in optimizing the mass spectrometry analytical protocols, qualify and quantify mass spectrometry sensitivity. Helps in finding limit of detection for specific analytical parameters.

Features and Benefits

  1. Helps in finding and aligning the peaks.
  2. Reduce variability in day-to-day measurements.
  3. Characteristics of each compound allow easy calculation of a suppression-corrected area for each compound. Suppression correction and normalization is done by ClusterFinder using the qualities inherent in the IS peaks.
  4. The user is always presented with raw, suppression corrected and normalized data, thus a best choice can be opted in experimental design.
  5. Can be used to build retention of unknow compounds.
  6. Normalization of total area under the curve(AUC) for all natural, suppression corrected peaks to the total AUC for their corresponding IROA-IS peaks.

Other Notes

  • 5% of 12C isotope
  • 95% of 13C isotope
