General description

Monoclonal Anti-Human Lambda Light Chains (mouse IgG2a isotype) is derived from the hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from an immunized mouse. Immunoglobulins are composed of two heavy and two light polypeptide chains held together by noncovalent forces and usually by interchain disulfide bridges. The various types of human (and other mammalian) immunoglobulins contain one of the two existing light chain types, either κ or λ in which multiple structural differences are reflected in antigenic variety, mainly the N-terminal (variable) domain of the chains.

Immunogen

Purified human IgG myeloma proteins covalently coupled to polyaminostyrene (PAS) microbeads.

Application

Monoclonal Anti-Human Lambda Light Chains (Bound and Free) antibody produced in mouse has been used:
  • in immunohistochemistry
  • in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assay
  • in immunohistology
  • in radioimmunoassay (RIA)
  • in precipitation assays
  • in immunoblotting
  • as capture antibodies in quantitative ELISA

Biochem/physiol Actions

Immunoglobulins (Ig) are produced by the B cells and play crucial role in host humoral immune response. A typical immunoglobulin consists of two heavy chains and two light chains. The two light chains are either κ or the λ chain. The B cells express one type of light chain during their life time.
The antibody is specific for human lambda (λ) light chains. This antibody is reactive with intact IgG (λ), IgA (λ), free lambda light chains and Bence-Jones lambda light chains. It is non-reactive with kappa light chains.
