General description

Leucine aminopeptidase (LAP, EC 3.4.11.1) removes N-terminalleucine residues from peptides and proteins and is abundant in liver and intestinal tissues. LAP activity can increase in settings of tissue damage, tumorigenesis, or inflammation.

Application

For quantitative determination of LAP enzyme activity in biologicalsamples, such as cells, tissues, and serum samples.

For high-throughput screening of LAP inhibitors and evaluation of drug modulators.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The Leucine Aminopeptidase Activity Assay Kit provides a rapid colorimetric method in which LAP hydrolyzes a dye-linked leucine substrate to yield a yellow product measurable at 405 nm. The change in absorbance over 20 minutes is proportional to LAP activity. The linear detection range in 96-well plate is 0.025 to 250 U/L.
