Immunogen

The epitope recognized by PLA0169 maps to a region between residue 929 and 979 of human NIMA related kinase 9 using the numbering given in entry NP_149107.3 (GeneID 91754).

Other Notes

NEK9 is a member of the NIMA-related serine/threonine kinases that play a role in mitotic progression. NEK9 plays a specific role in spindle organization and is necessary for accurate chromosome segregation. NEK9 may cooperate with the Ran-GTPase to regulate spindle formation. NEK6 and NEK7 are downstream substrates of NEK9 and may function cooperatively with NEK9 in mitotic spindle formation and maintenance.
