General description

RAE1 (mRNA export factor 1) is a nucleic acid-binding protein. It is also called as Gle2 (RNA export factor) or mrnp41 (mRNA binding protein mrnp 41). It is located on human chromosome 20q13.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 349-366 of human RAE1, conjugated to KLH via an N-terminal added cysteine residue. The corresponding sequence is identical in rat and mouse.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Suppression of RAE1 (mRNA export factor 1) affects the mitotic spindle assembly. It involves in mRNA export as mRNP-interacting protein. In mouse, Rae1 is necessary for early embryogenesis.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
