General description
Rhodamine B is a thiol-reactive and photostable fluorescent dye.
Application
Rhodamine B isothiocyanate-Dextran has been used:
- to label A, CI-M6PR-GFP, Lamp1-CFP-expressing wild type mouse embryonic fibroblast (MEF) cells
- in endosome/phagosome fusion assay to determine the rate of fusion of endosomes
- as a component in poration medium to monitor Hela cell uptake
Dextran labeled with rhodamine B isothiocyanate for possible use in perfusion studies in animals.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Rhodamine B stains the tissue in red-violet color and emits a bright red color when fluoresced. It is highly preferred for marking insects.
