Gene Information
human ... FBXL6(26233)
General description
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family which is characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. The F-box proteins constitute one of the four subunits of ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into 3 classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Fbls class and, in addition to an F-box, contains several tandem leucine-rich repeats. Alternative splicing of this gene generates 2 transcript variants. (provided by RefSeq)

FBXL6 is dysregulated in keloids and promotes keloid fibroblast growth by inducing c-Myc expression.
Guangdong Feng et al.
International wound journal, 20(1), 131-139 (2022-05-24)
C-MYC-mediated keloid fibroblasts proliferation and collagen deposit may contribute to the development of keloids. F-box and leucine-rich repeat protein 6 (FBXL6) is reported to be involved in tumour progression, while the role of FBXL6 in keloid fibroblasts is not deciphered.

Cell communication and signaling : CCS, 18(1), 100-100 (2020-06-25)
Heat shot protein 90 (HSP90) AA1 functions as an onco-protein to regulate the assembly, manipulation, folding and degradation of its client proteins, including c-MYC. However, little is known about the mechanism of HSP90AA1 regulation. Transcriptome RNA-sequencing data of hepatocellular carcinoma
