Gene Information

human ... JAK2(3717)

Biochem/physiol Actions

Janus kinase 2(JAK2) plays an important role in the activities of cytokines receptors. Overexpression of JAK2 results in neuroblastoma. JAK2 mutations promote primary resistance to PD-1 (anti-programmed death protein 1) blockade therapy. In addition, mutations in the gene has also been observed in polycythaemia vera patients.

General description

Janus kinase 2(JAK2) mapped on human chromosome 9p24, encodes a tyrosine kinase. The encoded protein is a member of the Jak family of protein. JAK2 is ubiquitously expressed. This protein contains a catalytic domain and protein–protein interaction domain.
Plays a role in leptin signaling and control of body weight.

Immunogen

Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of tyrosine 1007 (K-E-Y(p)-Y-K), according to the protein JAK2.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol
