Anti-DNA Polymerase ζ, N-Terminal antibody produced in rabbit

The REV3L (reversionless 3-like) gene is mapped to human chromosome 6q21. It codes for a ~350 kDa protein DNA polymerase ζ which localizes to mitochondria.

Anti-DNA Polymerase ζ antibody detects endogenous levels of total DNA polymerase ζ protein.

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human DNA Polymerase zeta.

REV3L (reversionless 3-like) is predominantly involved in DNA damage response, induced by ultraviolet radiation and chemical damaging agents such as cisplatin. The encoded protein DNA Polymerase ζ catalyzes the translesion synthesis (TLS) with less stringent and lower processivity. Loss of gene function is embryonically lethal. Upregulation of REV3L results in spontaneous mutations.
