Biochem/physiol Actions

Tie-2 (TEK receptor tyrosine kinase) protein induces angiogenesis and supports endothelial cell survival, upon binding of angiopoietin-1 (an endothelial growth factor) to the receptor. This gene is necessary for Schlemm′s canal formation. This gene regulates vascular homeostasis by involving in auto or transphosphorylation. Tie-2 is essential for the growth of vascular structures during embryogenesis.

General description

The TIE2 (TEK receptor tyrosine kinase) is also termed as TEK (tyrosine-protein kinase receptor). This gene is located on human chromosome 9p21.2. It is expressed in the Schlemm′s canal endothelial of the eye. TIE2 belongs to the receptor tyrosine kinases family.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human TIE2 around the phosphorylation site of Tyr1108.

Immunogen Range: 1074-1123

Physical form

Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
