Leupeptin is a tripeptide protease inhibitor that is naturally produced in Actinomyces / Streptomyces. Known also as N-acetyl-L-leucyl-L-leucyl-L-arginal, leupeptin is a reversible competitive inhibitor of cysteine, serine, and thiol proteases.
