General description

Isepamicin Sulfate is a semisynthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from gentamicin with a spectrum of activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and fungi.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Sepamicin Sulfate inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to the misreading of genetic information and inhibition of protein synthesis, and ultimately, bacterial cell death.
