Application

1-EBIO was used to study the electrical activity modulated by Ca+2-activated K+ channels in rat central neurons. The effect of 1-EBIO on human intermediate conductance channels was studied.

Biochem/physiol Actions

1-EBIO potentiates the secretion of CFTR-mediated Cl ion secretion by activating the basolateral KCNN4 K+ channels in native human colonic tissues. It stimulates the apical Cl channels and Ca+2-dependent basolateral K+ channels to stimulate fluid transport in lacrimal glands.
1-EBIO is an activator of epithelial Ca2+-activated K+ channel also known as the intermediate-conductance Ca(2+)-activated K(+) channel (IK-1) or KCa3.1.
1-EBIO is an activator of epithelial Ca2+-activated K+ channel
